Hello from Bowen

Found these small Banners at a Craft Shop and decided to make this for my son and daughter -in -laws new home. I loved the way the banner turned out, not sure where the designs are from.  I have been away from home for the last month and will be away for another 2 months at least.   My daughter has thyroid cancer and we are waiting for her operation to have the thyroid out.  We finally got a date which is the 28th August.    Still a while to wait and then there will be recovery,  While in Bowen I am missing the cold winter of Central Qld , the weather is beautiful here.

More Bunnies......

Another order for some of these little treat  Bunny Bags. All made in the hoop on the Embroidery Machine. A really fun design to make.      The design is from Memories in Threads and there are plenty of other designs to pick from.

Towel for Vincent

.Another towel for a baby boy.   This was a good chance for me to use one of the fonts that I have been collecting for a while.  This  gorgeous Bunny Font is from Stitch Delight. Once again it stitched out perfectly.

Oven Mitts...

I was asked to make some oven mitts.  I found a design to make on my Embroidery Machine and they were very simple to make and the quilting was perfect.  There was only one problem, turning the mitt to the right side.  The thumb was so thick from the Batting and the  Insul - Bright it made it very difficult to turn.  After much prodding and pulling I managed to get them the right way.  I don't think I will be making any more for a while.

Cushions for Cancer......

I am loving how these cushions turned out.  I made these cushions to donate to the Biggest Morning Tea.  I hope that their new owners love them as much as I do.  The designs are from Embroidery Library, Etsy Store Embroidery Zone, Embroideries and MPF Designs.

All the designs stitched out perfectly and I really love these ladies they look so elegant.

Kitchen Towels........

One of my friends was going overseas to visit family they had not seen for many years..   She asked me to embroider some kitchen towels with Australian Animals.  All these designs are on the Brother Card No 46.  I had forgotten how beautiful these designs stitch out and I will now be looking at doing more designs from the other Brother Cards that I have.

Lovely Ladies........

How gorgeous are these Embroidery Designs.  I had to use my big hoop for these and I had to sit and hold the bag so it wouldn't get caught in the hoop.   There is another one which is of course Paris and I have already given this one away , but I do intend doing another one. The bags are like a canvas and that was perfect as there are quite a few stitches in the design.  The designs come from Embroideries.  Lots of lovely designs on that sight.

Craft Bag.....

Trying to use up some of the fabric that I have in the cupboard.   I found this and decided I had to make something with it.   I made myself a bag to keep my wool in for the current project and thought that this would make an adorable bag.  The bag is small enough and easy to handle  so it would be perfect for anyone to pick up and take your craft with you.  I love this fabric and the vibrancy of the colours.

Mug Rugs !!!!!

These Mug Rugs were a sew a long for March which I joined. I really loved the way these mug rugs turned out.  Also they were quick and easy which was a bonus. The design was from Bella Bleu Embroidery.

Cord Holders.....

I found this design on the Embroidery Garden site.  The cord holders come in three sizes the small for phone chargers and the large one will fit the cord from a sewing machine.  This is a great idea as I am always getting my phone cord tangled around everything else I have in my bag.     I made them from Vinyl and the design was free from Embroidery Garden.

Make up Bag.....

Many years ago I quilted this piece of fabric and never got to finish the project.   I can't even remember what I was going to make with it.    I needed a flat bag to take on a trip to Brisbane and I had also been watching a video in the Facebook group M.O.M  In the video it showed how to make  these bag/ jacket closures.  I had the perfect project for this idea.  Loved the way it turned out.  I put some clear iron on vinyl on the inside of the bag so that I can just wipe it, if it needs a clean.   A big thank you to Nadine for helping me go outside the box and use my machine to its full potential.

Another Easter Gift.

I would like to thank Antonia from Embroidery Playground for changing MOM to MUM for us Aussies.   Stitched out beautifully and the cheeky squirrel is from Kris Rhoades.   There is also a fish for the fishermen  and a monkey looking for bananas.  Cooper loved his Easter Gift.....

Easter Gift for Laken.....

I thought this was a really cute idea for a Easter Gift for my Great Grandson.  The little shoe pattern I have had since my Grandsons were little but never got around to making. I  am enjoying making all the things that I never had time to do when they were small and I have time to make for Laken.  The  Bandana Bib was  from an Etsy Shop, Oopsidaisi and it was super easy to make.

Easter Treat Bags...

I joined the February sew a long in the AMEA facebook group, which was making these Easter Treat Bags.  There were many designs to choose from but decided on the bunny and chicken.  There is a clear area in the belly part of the design and it can be filled from the back with Easter Goodies.  A very cute idea for a Easter Gift.  Another very easy In the Hoop design to make on the Embroidery Machine.

Happy Easter...

I would like to wish all my family and friends a very Happy Easter and please stay safe over the Holidays..      This is my Great Grandson Laken and his first Easter.  He is nearly 4 months old, they grow so fast. I am having lots of fun with photoshop and still have a lot to learn.

Bunny Stuffies......

First time at making Stuffies.   I had this small piece of soft fabric that was just perfect for the bunnies and I managed to get three.  They were made In the Hoop on the Embroidery Machine. Not sure where the design came from but so quick and easy and of course my Great Grandson Laken was given one.      So cute he can hang onto one ear.   I also put a little rattle in them so that they would make a noise.

Logo on Shirts . . . .

I was asked to do a logo on some shirts for a small business in town.  I had the logo digitized by Kris Rhodes and it stitched out great.  The client was happy and so was I at the way they turned out.

Sewing Caddy in a Photo Frame...

I belong to a group on facebook called M.O.M. ( Mastering Our Machines ) and after watching the video of Nadine making one of these sewing caddies in a photo frame., I decided to make one.   I now have found out that my machine can join patterns together like the stacked stitches, the middle design.   Now that I have worked that out I will be able to join lots of designs on the machine as I have always used my software to do any alterations.  I am stoked that I am finally getting the most out of my machine.

Crochet Rug

Love how this crochet rug turned out.  Once again it took me ages to find a rug suitable for a boy but really loved this one as soon as I saw it.   As I am only learning to crochet I want to keep doing something new so I am learning new stitches and I get a lot of help from You Tube.  A wonderful learning tool.  The pattern was a free one and is called Park Slope Afghan.  It was a huge job putting it together and I did a Crab Stitch around the edge as I felt it needed something to finish it off.  It is a great feeling when a project is finished.

Bunny Reading Cushion

I decided to join a Sew a Long to get me back into sewing mode.  We were given five designs to pick from and I thought I would do the Bunny for my Great Grandson Laken's first Birthday which is not till December.  I already have a set of Australian story books for him.  So now I have one Birthday out of the way for the year.  These reading cushions are really easy to make it just has a pocket on the front to put the story books.

Bibs...

Some bibs for the newest member of the family. I had to used the teddy bear that I made many years ago for the model.   I also used some of the designs that I had in my embroidery file stash instead of buying new files. Not sure where all the designs are from but I have had them for quite a while.

Another Cushion.....

Another cushion I made for the sew a long.  When I saw the design that we could use I knew immediately that I was going to make it.  I already had the key fabric and it was so perfect for the design.  I used the 7 x 12 hoop for this design.  Also this year I said my New Year resolution would be that I would use the fabric I have in my stash and not buy any more.  I do hope I can stick to it. Not sure who this one is for yet.   It was wonderful to win a prize for this cushion in the sew a long and it brightened my day.

More Towels

Some of the Towels I did for a friend for Christmas. I am loving my new Machine with the big hoop so that I can fit all the name in one hooping.   The front Is called Sarah and is from Stitchtopia. Love the swirly bits on the first letter of the names.  Also added a bit of photoshop.

More Gifts for Laken

My friend Helen digitized  this design for me to put on a bunny rug for Laken.  As usual I didn't get any choice with what sort of bunny rug I could buy.  I was thrilled at the way it turned out as it was a very stretchy fabric.  Thanks Helen, the parents really loved it.  I also made the elephant banner for him.  It is really cute too.  The design came from Big Dreams and was really easy to make In the Hoop. I also added a bit of photoshop with the pink flowers.
