Quilow for Cooper

This is the start of a quilow for Cooper. It is all the bits left over from the quilow I made for Thomas.  I has better get moving and get it finished. It won't be as big as the ones I made for the other boys.  There is a green check to go all the way around the outside which will set it off beautifully.

Christmas in July

Lucky me. These are the gifts I received from my secret santa. A small tissue case, bookmark, christmas tree broach, tea bag holder, soap in a small bag, and  a shopping bag that folds up. a great idea.  Thank you secret santa.

My Idea for the Rose Petal Pillow.

I have been looking for a while now for a top  for my laundry basket. When I saw the petal pillow I knew what I was going to make. The measurement accross the centre is 22 inches. I used iron on vilene on the back of the fabric so that it would not fray. I don't know how many circles I cut out but I started with a 4 inch, than 3 inch than 21/2 inch and so on. On the 3rd row I started to put a little pleat in the centre of the petal I was stitching to give it a bit of shape.  The petals got quite small as I got to the centre. I than glued a large blue glass stone for the centre.   On the outside of the base fabric I folded the edge under about 1\2 inch to make a casing and than threaded elastic, which fitted around under the basket top.  If you have any questions please contact me.  Here is the link to the Petal Pillow. I think it looks more like a Dahlia than a Rose.  Just click on the photo fo a larger view.

Hair Clippie Travel Case

A travel case for hair clippies that all little girls will adore. Just big enough for a few hair clips without taking up too much room.  Rolls up and ties with a bow. All done in the hoop on my embroidery machine. The pattern came from  Newfound Applique. Here is the link.

My Funky Chickens

These are my Funky Chicken Pincushions. They are very easy to make and look really gorgeous.
Too good for pincushions.  A good way to use up those scraps lying around the sewing room. These were made with  2 x  4 x 4 squares.
